The Manaslu Trek via Tsum Valley traversesaround the 8163-meter Mount Manaslu through Tsum Valley, also known as Hidden Valley. The trailis popular among trekkers seeking isolation, incredible scenery, and an experience with Tibetan Buddhist culture. The Manaslu region was opened for the trekkers in 1995 and Tsum Valley was opened as recently as 2008. The Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek takes placein a geographically and culturally fascinating area.  It rewards the trekkers who wish to discover the landscape and cultural heritage of Tsum Valley and Manaslu. The residents of the area are direct descendants of Tibetan immigrants who settled here during early 16th century. Consequently, their dialect, dress and customs resemble those of Tibetans north of Nepal. The mountain views in the area are sensational and iconic, and you will find them nowhere else in the world.

The Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek takes you into the majestic surroundings of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Boudha Himal ranges. In the initial days of the trek, we explore the Budhi Gandaki Valley through a mix of dense forest, terraced fields and hill villages. As we leave the main Manaslu Trail for the Tsum Valley, suddenly we get a feeling of entering a truly hidden valley. While on the trek, we also pass through alpine forests, glacial rivers, and enjoy the warm hospitality of the people living in the villages. We also visit the ancient Buddhist Gombas of the region including the Milarepa's Cave, Rachen Gompa, Mu Gompa among others. It is said that the Buddhist saint Milarepa used to meditate in the caves of these mountains. The dramatic Larke Pass towards the end of the trek after visiting Tsum Valley is a thrilling once-in-a-lifetime experience.  After descending to Jagat, we end the trek and drive back to Kathmandu.

This trip is suitable for the adventure lovers who have some previous trekking experience. The best times to hike Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek are during Spring and Autumn.  Ascent Holidays arranges the trek with complete management, including TIMS card.
